Just when I figure out a decent method for processing my night photos, a night shot challenge comes up and my editing is illegal for it. I'm not trying to whine about my score, the version I entered deserved it, but I am saying that Photoshop is a wonderful thing.
This was the version that I edited properly.. layer masks to adjust curves and reduce noise made almost all the difference. That and blending modes/opacity.
And this was my challenge entry, which I did quickly right before the end of the submission period after I remembered it was basic editing.
Oh well, I guess this is how everyone who entered the Fashion challenge a while back felt. And I do understand the point of Basic editing, sort of. This isn't meant to be a rant or complain, just giving an example of an image that sucks but photoshop can save it :) |

Yeah I definitely know how you feel. One of the first challenges I wanted to enter was a basic editing one so I couldn't enter it. The undedited version look terrible, but the edited one wasn't legal. Kind of a catch 22. Oh well...
