I'm still trying to decide which telephoto to go with my 30d. I really want the 70-200 F/4L but can't really afford an almost $600 lens right now. I'm dying for a telephoto though. I take mostly outdoors nature photos and landscapes so I don't need an f/2.8 or anything. How is the Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5.6 LD? This lens is only $164 on Adorama. Is it as good or better than the Sigma 70-300mm APO DG lens? Any other lenses you recommend? Thanks in advance.

I think the consensus is that for the bucks, Sigma 70-300 APO DG is the best $200 ish 70-300 lens.
