Can someone who owns this tell me if there's a place to put a hand strap on the grip. Wouldn't a hand grip get in the way of the vertival button? How does that work?

Yes there is. No it doesn't.

My problem with a handstrap is that if you want to shoot portrait you can't use the grip shutter release (unless you take your hand out of the grip).
