You could look at the website of adorama or bhpoto and check out the prices there. D50 which I own costs about $550.
You will also need to buy a lens so it could cost a little more(if you buy a cheap one).

Bear in mind that you will probably have to pay import duties if you buy the camera from the US. You'll probably still come out ahead, so it's probably worth doing regardless -- you'll just want to make sure you figure any import duties into your budget.

Nice. A D50 with 18-55mm kit lens costs US$970 (€750) here in Ireland.

So even with import duty included, it still makes it cheaper to buy from the US - If you can find someone who'll deliver to Europe that is.

One more issue - you may find that you are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty unless you are prepared to ship the camera back to the USA for repairs. The warranty is generally provided by the local distributor in each country.

With a saving of over $400, a person could afford to throw away the first one if it breaks and buy a new one!

In Iceland Nikon D50 body costs 110,000 krónur($1550). That's why I bought it from USA.
