My wife gave me 10 minutes to shoot and edit this for a contest she suddenly decided to enter. certainly not the most stellar shot in the world but considering the extremely shot notice and time constraints, what do you think?

Please be honest, I can take it - I want to learn :)

Thanks!

thanks for the comments :)

@ShutterPug - my wife liked the straight on shots better too. I dunno why I liked the portrait better, it's starting to seem like maybe I made the wrong choice.

I like this one much better. Fills the frame better, has a better background (floor) and seems sharper on the face. Something about the first turns me off. I think it's the combination of negative space at top, a "looking down" perspective, and the dog looking out of the frame. He/she looks submissive and timid. The second one you posted in this thread has a more straight on perspective and is overal more gripping (to me). He/she looks a little worried or confused to me though (in the eyes)....

.. probably because dad's yelling "Sit Daisy! We've gotta be quick!"
