Can anyone recommend a software program that lets me make posters? I'm trying to make a 30" x 45" for a project, and I need something that's going to work great, and give me lots of features.
Thanks!

Any graphics editor (Photoshop, GIMP) will let ya work at that size. Not sure what you are looking for?

A "poster making program" is vague, I'm pretty sure that is why Fotomann was asking.

Posters can be as simple as a large photo (Photoshop upsizing or Rasterizer stylizing). But they could also include text, backgrounds, and other stylistic elements. Those multi-element posters can be created in just about any program. Adobe Illustrator allows you to use vectors (mathematical line drawings which can be grown or shrunk infinitely), Adobe Indesign is an example of the classical layout program (also see Adobe FrameMaker, QuarkXPress, MS Publisher, and Scribus). I've even gone so far as to build posters and other similar documents in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.

The point is, you can do this in almost any program. You'll need to elaborate on "lots of features" and possibly explain what you're looking to do if you want further help.

I would highly recommend Adobe InDesign, it's an excellent program with great features and is fairly easy to use. Download the 30-day tryout from adobe.com and give it a go.

Oh, sorry, I mean I want to make a "display" poster with lots of pictures, writing, etc. I'd like some writing to be over some pictures, so maybe some pictures would be turned into watermarks. They'd be rotated, blended together, and look really professional.
I hope that helps! Sorry for my vague description

Photoshop, Gimp, PSP... most graphics editors will do all that and more.

Photshop or go all out and get the CS2 suite. The programs work together very well so you can combine your photshop work with the work from the other programs to take advantage of the best of each part of the suite.

photoshop...

this was a CD label i made in PS - multiple images, text, text on text, text on black painted areas, the Espy Logo has it's BG erased..

lumapix fotofusion, but it has a more limited size than you need perhaps. it is fast and easy to use and cheaper than PS if you don't have that.
