I found this lens used for $100. Is it worth it or should I keep saving for a better telephoto? Is the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro a better lens? It's only $195 new. Thanks.

Actually I just found the Sigma used for $150. Which would you choose?

I think the Tamron is more of a one lens solution.
The Sigma APO DG 70-300 macro is probably the best consumer grade 70-300mm zoom out there for the money.

If it was me and I wanted one lens for travelling, then I'd go for the Tamron, otherwise I'd probably go for the Sigma.

I have the Tamron 28-200. It is convenient when you want to travel light, but the images are noticably soft, particularly at the long end. I haven't used mine for a looooong time now - in fact it's sitting in its original box, not in my camera bag.
