Adobe has ACR 3.4 with support for 30D available for download now.

I am guessing we just double click the plug in file then it installs itself.

No, close Photoshop, download the zip to your hard drive then open it and if you're using windows extract the file to the Program Files > Common Files > Adobe > Plug-Ins > CS2 > File Formats folder. There will be another file in there already named the same thing. You can either rename that file or overwrite it.

I tried that and it doesn't go in that folder. I keep dragging and it never goes

If the date of the Camera Raw.8bi file is 4/28/2006 then it "went". If not try renaming the file currently in your destination folder and then extracting the new file to the folder.

The folder is empty. I keep dragging it in there and the folder is still empty

For some reason it won't let me replace the file

Yep. I even uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop
