Kid's can make the front page, both print (the linked image was main photo on today's print edition) and online (i.e. - Photojournalism II). ;^) This was a great event BTW...have some photos to share later (one of our kids ran the race also).

yes, kids can and do make the front page. here are two of my recent front pagers for one of the local weeklies i shoot for
just like dpc, it's not necessarily the subject, but how it's shot and what it's competing with. for me, it was both a matter of cuteness, relevance, and the fact that it was a pretty slow newsweek around here...
