With the recent thread on RAW, I thought I would try it since I never have before. The problem is, when I open it in photoshop, it looks like a t.v. screen when it goes fuzzy...it's just black and white and looks like static. I don't know why this is, can anyone help?

What version of photoshop?

Versions prior to CS require a plugin in order to open a RAW file.

For PS 7 it may not be available any more but you can check adobe's website.

As another option you could download free software for doing RAW conversion from www.pixmantec.com (RAWShooter Essentials).

Yeah, looks like your camera isn't supported until CS2. You should have software that came with your camera that will allow you to open your RAW files or, like cpanaioti said, check out RAWShooter.

I dont think the plugin works for PS7. It's meant for PS CS2, if I remember right.

Anyway, I see you're using a Fuji Finepix. In that case, you can try this software here. It's free and developed by fans, and I find it pretty powerful as a standalone RAW converter.

Here is the link: s7raw software

Hope this helps.
