It actually is the same. The linear distance between pixel locations on the sensor, for both cameras, is 8.4 microns. Put another way, if you added same-sized pixels around a 1DMkIIn sensor to make it full frame, the ending pixel count would be nearly identical to the 5D. Or going the opposite direction, if you crop a 5D image by a factor of 1/1.3, you wind up with the same number of pixels as in a 1DMkIIn image.
