That is the best statement made in this thread.

There are a lot of us that use RAW, because we need it. There are a lot that use JPEG for thier own reasons. If JPEG shooting works for you, by all means work with it.

But, please at least give RAW a fighting chance. Not only will you get superior results, you also learn a lot about image processing and what makes what work. When you know this info, you can be more educated about what choices you let the camera make when you do use JPEG.

I'm a JPEG person. I dont shoot RAW unless I felt that the situation calls for it - like a sunset, or when shooting under dynamic lighting conditions where I cant trust the WB. Besides that, I'm an all out JPEG person - at the BEST QUALITY settings (lowest JPEG compression), of course :p

Why RAW?
here is another reason - if your a canon owner anyway

I still shoot JPGs when i'm on vacation, for my sons Tball games (medium res even!). Depends on what I intend the end image to be used for you. For ebay listings RAW is overkill...when it's wedding then perhaps RAW is the only way to go.
