Some clues would help in identifying this plant. What PLANET did you find it on?????
I am in the plant business and I grow over a hundred varities of plants, many of which flower and fruit. But I have never seen anything like this.
Seriously, where does it grow? Let's start there and I'll check some references and attempt to I.D. it. |

Yakat:Its taken from the Philippines. Not near any nuclear radiation or some sort.
Looks like a tomato to me.

Oh!........What a smart person you are, and now you go to the "TOP" of the class for today.....
Actually it is a most unusual fruit and would love to see what it looks like inside. Maybe another photo......

Not smart (thanks though), just good at google.
It's a nice shot. By far, the best of any that I could find on the internet. |

I wonder, what words did you use for this search? |

Yeah, I'm wondering the same. I'm usually pretty good at googling myself but this one beat me.

Well, I'm ashamed to admit that I seem to obsess about finding out what things are.
Here is how the search process took place.
I googled different combinations of these words:
Philippines, fruit, vine, wild, gourd, squash, plant.
I came upon this site and realized that it resembled plants called "solanum". I looked at all of "solanums" until I found it. |
