My Friends husband is leaving for Iraq next week.... I need to do some family shots for them before he leaves. The kind that capture good memories just case. Any suggestions as I am still very new to photography. They can't get an appointment with a photographer because they are not telling the young sons where he is going, just he is going for training...
Need Advice... wont let me change my typo in the title.

What about being the photographer for a nice family outing, like a day at the zoo or a local amusement park? Rent a couple rowboats at a local lake? I could see a shot of a family in life jackets posed together in a rowboat or a canoe (with the photog standing on shore or shooting from a second boat, looking like it's the middle of the lake), especially if they just had a blast that day. Those kids are going to remember that, and the photos will help them keep it fresh.
