To fill in the time between this project and this one, I've started a 28 challenges in 28 days concept here. It's something I initially was just going to do for myself, but it occurred to me that others here might want to get in on it as well. From the About page:

The list in the sidebar represents 28 different photographic concepts, if you will, and I'm going to choose one each day to try. Some of the concepts are borrowed straight from past challenges at DPChallenge. Some are things I already enjoy doing (ahem cough flower macro ahem) and some are major stretches for me (personification? help!). My hope is that this project will provide me with the best parts of the DPChallenge experience -- that is, motivation to go shoot something I might otherwise not have -- without having to choose between attempting to master the DPChallenge Success Formula or (as is more usually the case) flounder around with low votes and the accompanying self-loathing. In other words, I have challenges, but I can shoot for myself without worrying about scores. Not that this means I won't still be torturing myself with the DPC "update" link.

*****

Anyone else who chooses to do this is welcome to use my list or make his/her own. If anyone else DOES participate I can make a set of links a la the 30-day SP challenge to post here.

*********

OK, so far we have
AJAger
bs-photos
buzzrock
ericwoo
indigobutterfly
pennyj1957
rachelellen
xXxscarletxXx
xianart

in a format you can copy and paste into your sidebar if you so choose:
  • AJAger
  • bs-photos
  • buzzrock
  • ericwoo
  • indigobutterfly
  • pennyj1957
  • rachel
  • xianart

    waiting for a link from

    vikas

A few non-DPC friends of mine are wanting to participate as well, so if you start to see some links in here with names you don't recognize that will be why.

i like your website, did you create it yourself or is it based on some open source software?

Thanks. The software that drives the photoblog is Pixelpost (www.pixelpost.com I think). The CSS is mostly mine, with a few remnants from their basic template.

I like the look of this, but I'm still doing the self-portraits and will be doing so for another three days yet. Perhaps I'll give it a go after that. If I do, I'll use your list, as it is usually much better, as an exercise, if some outside restraint is imposed.

I actually made an inverted version of the shot I entered in Complementary Colors and only decided which challenge to enter it in based on which one had the fewest entries on the day it closed. :) (the calendula picture in the blog I just took today.)

rachel, i'll try this, but will only do 14 days, if that's ok. i need a little time between to re-orgainse my life (and fend off divorce??) (not more photo stuff? you're driving to the city to buy a prop for this photo thing???)

i still have 5 days on the self portraits, so i'll start in 10, if that's ok.

    //two-weeks-of-photos.blogspot.com/ this be the spot...

I would hear this same thing except that my husband has his own addiction issues (astronomy and car restoration) so he has no room to talk. :) Doesn't keep him from raising his eyebrows though.

Really nice! Penny's too -- I left a comment at Penny's blog but I couldn't find a place to do that at your site.

I put up day 1 yesterday, and I'll be putting up day 2 as soon as I get it edited and uploaded. :)

Finally something where I won't have to shoot myself ...and the topics are decided... I will try :)

    Will post the link soon!
    05/06/2006 01:18:52 AM · #22
Never done this, but I too will try (try being the operative word).
I predict there will be days when I'll have to double up.

I created a folder in my portfolio called 28 days of Pics - May 06

    Thanks!

PS. Are we on day 2 already?

I added a blogger and changed my link to allow for comments. Not sure why I didn't think of that earlier. Here is the new one:

OK, I added vikas and indigobutterfly and changed Eric's link. Did I miss anyone?

Not really happy with my shot for today, but it's up there.

Personification out of the way. So far, I like them all, so they'd probably tank in a challenge here. Who's next?
