Arizona GTG? - DPChallenge Forums

I havenâ��t been out shooting (other then little league) in too long and I need a good reason to get out of the house with my camera. Also, there have been a few DPC Arizona birthdays recently and Iâ��m sure some people have new toys they want to play with.

Itâ��s a little hot in the Phoenix area already, but a great time of year for Sedona, Prescott, Jerome, Flagstaff areas?

I have no date or location in mind right now but I could offer some suggestions. Who is in? What day can you do it? And do you have a suggested location?

my MiL has a cabin up in Pinetop- the painted desert is about 40 min from there... Bell was great & drove me around the area too. It's small but I could have a few guests. Not sure about when though and if you could put up with my children?!?!! :0P (j/k- they are actually quite good.)
Daryl- you guys have kid(s)? My son Cole is 5 & my daughter Jacqueline is 4. Hard to go shooting with them sometimes...

Petroglyphs at Lyman Lake (15 min from Pinetop)

Painted Desert (45 min.) a loop drive takes probably an hour & 1/2?

On the side of the road to Greer (1/2 hour maybe)

Nope, no kids here. I shot little league photos for friends the past few weeks.

Interesting idea on a cabin. I've rented cabins for the weekend up in that area before and have always had a blast.

cool, well let me know what weekends are better than others- I probably won't be able to get outta here till after May or possibly the last weekend in May... Oh & I did go to the Flugtag thing but we didn't stay long :0)

I just got a new camera for my birthday last month (actually tax return paid for it) and am eager to go out too. Will monitor this thread - sounds like a great idea.

I went to Flugtag to. I think, though, that you guys spotted and successfully avoided me once again. But I did have fun closely checking out bikini clad girls in case they may have been DPCers.

I think you were avoiding me. I mean really I am 6'8" I stand head and shoulders above the crowd. I am sure it was the Bikini Chicks that had you occupied.

LOL- I know, just teasing you. It was also brought up for my B-day card by Ken and by marbo in the leauge of death saying he's gonna beat the pants off me and then before by this twerp so I mighta kicked some ass previously if I had no sense of humor :0P

Standing next to waz, I feel like a twerp!

I'm thinking a Saturday would work best, May 13th, 20th or 27th?

I've been eager to get back to West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon. It gets crowded on weekends so we'd need to get an early start though.

Any other ideas? We could keep is simple and do the zoo, but it'll probably be hot.

You actually forced me into looking up the word twerp to make sure I wasn't calling him something really bad!!! :0P

I should be able to go the 27th and if it's a day trip (or one night) I might be able to get the kids watched too. Oak Creek Canyon sounds nice- it's been a while. Pine Top is a three hour drive so no day trips there!!!

Pretty sure I won't be able to go anywhere, but I like Pine Top with its proximity to the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert. I'f you've never photographer in the area that makes it appealing.
