The site looks great, and the pics are even better...

Thanks Michael... any pics you feel are too weak to be on there?

Nice looking site. I really like having background comments next to each photo - it somehow helps me to connect (for want of a better word) with the images.

Beetle, I'm glad you commented on that because it was an idea I had early on - I felt it important to present each image in a context - but I found it quite hard to write some of the descriptions. Others were easy. It's good to know that they have a value for some visitors. Thanks for checking it out for me!!!

Hey Kavey & Pete,

Love the site and the images are spectacular, Deb & I wish you well and hope it reaches the level it deserves.

I agree with the earlier comment about having a Bio, if I were considering a purchase I would like to know more about the photog.

beautiful images, excellent site! kudos to you both!!

others may disagree, but i was surprised not to find this image

i do hope now that you have the framework in place, you'll be adding to your inventory.

just a handful of suggestions:
1) on your basket page, add spinners to the quantity so that it can be adjusted with the mouse
2) phase 2: add a guestbook so that visitors can sign up for email updates
3) you really need a copyright notice somewhere
4) it may be staring me right in the face, but once i get off the home page, i can't find any way to navigate back to it

lastly, i didn't bother to look at your source, but i trust you keyworded the hell out of your pages for the search engines.

good luck!

I looked at your site too, and I agree that the individual comments on each photo are a nice touch, they're what stood out the most to me.

Kavey - when I looked at your site this morning, everything looked just fine. Professional, yet warm and welcoming.

We will indeed be adding to our inventory but this image sadly doesn't make the grade - it was taken on our old, low resolution Jenoptik point and shoot and I just can't upsize it to anything usable for even an 8x10 print. But I do have lots of new stuff to add.

1) Will pass that to Pete - he's the coder.
2) Great idea!
3) We have expressed copyright in the Help page but I think you're right that it should be more visible and I think I'll ask Pete to include it below each image.
4) You just click on the logo graphic at the top left corner of every page - that's a common shortcut link back to the home page - however I may have Pete add an obvious link as this convention may well not be common knowledge to everyone.
5) I haven't keyworded the images - can one do that?

Moneypenny, Sfalice, thank you both so much for your feedback and kind comments.

it's not the images that get keyworded, it's the html pages, starting with the title (yours is EXCELLENT)

under the tag are a handful of meta tags; here's some of mine, as an example: <br> <br><meta name="keywords" Content="skip rowland photography, richmond va, central viriginia, freelance, freelance photographer, photojournalist, weddings, candid portraits, event photography, web content, product photography, digital photography, wedding photography, portraits, fine art, outer banks photography, rural photography, urban photography, church photography, church directories, virginia photography"> <br> <br><meta name="description" Content="skip rowland photography, richmond va, central viriginia, freelance, freelance photographer, photojournalist, weddings, candid portraits, event photography, web content, product photography, digital photography, wedding photography, portraits, fine art, outer banks photography, rural photography, urban photography, church photography, church directories, virginia photography"> <br> <br>there's a whole science to this type of keywording, especially when it comes to google. i don't know how exact a science it is, but there are a lot of "search engine optimizers" out there charging lots of money to do nothing more than add keywords to your pages...</td></tr></table></td></tr> <tr class="forum-bg1"> <td rowspan="2" valign="top" nowrap width="200" class="forum-bg1"> <a name="2397949"></a> <div class="forumpic"><a href="profile.php?USER_ID=3087"><img src="https://images.dpchallenge.com/images_profile/0-4999/65/3087.jpg" style="border: 1px solid black;"></a></div> <div style="float: left; width: 120px"> <div style="margin-bottom: 4px;"><span style="width: 16px; text-align: center;"><img src="/images/user_icon/31_F.gif" hspace="4" vspace="0" border="0" alt="Registered User"></span><a title="Kavey; currently offline" href="/profile.php?USER_ID=3087" class="fo ">Kavey</a></div> <div class="forumcam" style="width: 120px;"><a href="/camera.php?CAMERA_ID=1544" class="u" style="color:#444">Canon EOS-400D Rebel XTi</a></div> <div class="forumcam" style="width: 120px;"><a href="/lens.php?LENS_ID=1122" class="u" style="color:#888">Sigma 18-125mm f/3.5-5.6 DC for Canon</a></div> </div> </td> <td class="textsm" height="14"> 05/09/2006 05:25:05 PM · <a href="/forum.php?action=jump&FORUM_THREAD_ID=387534&FORUM_POST_ID=2397949" class="u">#36</a> </td> </tr> <tr class="forum-bg1"><td valign="top"><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="4" class="forum-post"><tr><td valign="top">Oh yeah, I know about page keywording!
