Hey there :) I'm looking to buy a printer/scanner. I'm doing as much research as I can (as I want only the best) and would love some advice/feedback/experiences/opinions.

Thanks in advance!

Just read this article in American Photo Magazine where a pro photog claims these are the best inkjet printers he has used: the HP Designjet 130 (large format) and HP Photosmart 8750 (13x19)

HP also has a new professional printer coming out in a few months which supports individual ink cartridges: Click

I am currently using an older HP Photosmart 7960 and love it (although it only offers 8x10) - I will be getting the new B9180 when it becomes available.

For big stuff everyone I know uses the Epson 7800

for little stuff...labs. most use fuji fontier equipment, stuff you'll never afford, but makes true continous tone photographs.

I'm not a pro, but I do notice that the really exacting folk that I know use Epson. Many of them are so exacting that they won't even use off-brand inks...

I would be VERY cautious about how much stock I put in any article by a 'pro photographer' in an article in a photo magazine.

Pro photographers are working individuals. Their endorsement of a particular printer/scanner in an article in a photo magazine is roughly the same thing to a professional bodybuilder recommending a type of power supplement in a bodybuilding mag.

In other words, just another form of advertisement.

Why don't you check around your local area?
