Are we aware of the messages present in our photos?
And, if we are aware, up to what degree?
Do we ask ourselves what kind of public we target with our photos?
Similar to us or different from us?
Do we have an idea of how common (or uncommon) our targeted stereotype is (scoring concerned issue..)?

I just tought that this kind of questions may help to win ribbons (and because of my angelic nature I decided to share them).

Maybe they are just silly questions, though.
(and because of my devilish nature I decided to share them).

lol. I thought this kinda stuff belongs in the "top secret" pile.

Angelic? So, what do you want?

And yes I agree that participants should be more aware of those questions. I have looked at some of the submissions and occasionally they are off topic.

Perhaps they should look at other submissions and see what the images which they rated highly had that perhaps their own work did not...

In hindsight, it isn't really a direct message that the fotos are conveying, but more of my desire to make others appreciate things that I appreciate - colors, patterns, organization of objects in a composition; major elements that immediately strike you when you see a foto. Of course, people can leave them or love them, though I'd be happier if I'm made aware that I'm not alone in liking what I think is beautiful. Maybe it is one form of self-validation for a personal sense of aesthetics. Photography, after all, is not my 'real' line of work.

To a great extent.
Do we ask ourselves what kind of public we target with our photos?
Not in my case. I have no foto that will polarize people into opposing camps a la Maplethorpe (big haha)! Because of the 'benign' nature of what I find interesting to capture in foto, there really is no need to pre-screen my work to adapt them to the culture of the public.

Not a concern.

If I get your question correctly, yes, after 5 challenges. I think I have an idea of the stereotypical 'good' picture that the community here appreciates. The crowd (and that includes me) favor technical aptitude above other aspects. This does not mean that symbolic depth of fotos is disregarded; that too is considered, but not prioritized.

Not silly at all, Antonio. These are very valid questions. Just as the writer, painter sculpter must ask these question...so should the photographer.
Also, I think it is importaint to view your images as if you saw them for the first time. You may be able to answer some of these questions and also be able to look into the artist...yourself.

Keep the questions flowing! They keep the world going 'round!
