Congratulations to Seanchai & e301, talk about close! I now wish I hadn't given you guys a 10. ;)

For all those that asked my entry was created by:

Turning off 'My Stats' in My Preferences (wasn't sure how much of the page would be displayed on the PDA and I didn't want challenges from a fortnight ago there!)

Used File/Save to save the complete page and images to disk.

Opened the web page in Notepad and 'removed' the link to the winner for the current week and saved the file. This left me with a nice rectangle with a red cross in it on the page as a placeholder.

Opened the saved page in the web browser and hit Prnt Scrn (small keys on the laptop I use), and pasted the resulting image into PhotoShop. Saved this as a jpeg and copied it to the PDA.

Opened the jpeg in Pocket Explorer on the PDA and scrolled the screen to get the display I wanted, then the fun started.

I now know that trying to photograph one of these things is difficult, reflections everywhere. After twenty odd attempts I finally got this one.

Opened the resultant photo in PhotoShop and did the usual tweaks on levels, curves etc. (At least I could hold the PDA as I was doing it as a point of reference). Got rid of a big lump of dust that had stuck to the screen using the patch tool (at least there was no fingerprints to try and remove).

Created a new level and copied and pasted the background into it. This new level was then selected, shrunk and rotated to fill the placeholder.

This step was then twice more to create the 'infinite mirror' effect.

Finally resized the image and applied USM.

Initially I was thinking of taking the photo, post processing, embedding it in the web page and then copying it back to the PDA and repeating to get the same effect. This would have been DPC legal for the normal rules but I would probably have thrown the PDA out of the window before I'd finished!

I started worrying about a DQ when all the copyright issues started getting raised, the image had deliberatly broken copyright, sorry Admins I won't do it again ;)

I can't even moan about the voters today, best of all no 1's to complain about (but a 2 and a 3, come on people :p)

Thankyou Rob - and congratulations to you too, and also to Sean, and to everyone who put a hell of a lot of work into their images for this one: I'd hate to be told exactly how many hours went into my shot! Or do I mean days.

Yes thanks to everyone who entered this challenge!! I looked forward to this challenge more than any. I've been here since Feb. and now it will be interesting to see what The past challenge brings. I hope we will be able to do something like these two in the future. Sorry that some were confused about The Future challenge but hope we can all move on from here
