I am curiously excited about this, it being nothing more than a replacement (not like it's bigger or better).

My 4 1/2 year old 19" CRT is slowly getting darker - a trait of CRTs (and TVs since they use CRT tubes). I noticed it 6 to 8 months ago, and put off the expense.
Then I start to go looking and all I find are LCDs, and the cost is more than I want to spend. I found a nice one for $330 (19" 1400:1 contrast ratio) but that was more than i was willing to spend. It's not that I'm cheap, but there are other things I need first. CS2 maybe...

A friend finds out you can still get 19"CRTs - I hadn't looked much to tell the truth - no stores had them and the online discussions pretty much said they were history. Quill had an NEC for $220. That was more like it.

So a bit of searching and - my new 19" CTX is in transit from of all places Amazon. $173 with free shipping and no tax. And I don't have to change from my CRT ways! (well for a few more years anyway)

So beware all you votees out there - all your pics won't look too dark to me anymore!
