OK, so after work I decided it was time to start my photography portfolio. I designed the main page in FrontPage and went to godaddy and bought a domain name and registered for hosting.
Now problem is... I have NO CLUE what I am doing. I can't even figure out where to upload my page or at the very least type in my HTML. I guess I should have thought this out a bit more before I jumped in feet first!
Anybody here ever use godaddy?

are you hoping to build it all on godaddy or in FrontPage then upload? I haven't used godaddy so I'm not sure how it works but I did look at the website tonight link. and it looks like they give you templates to use and build off of, not sure if it is included with your purchase or not.
I have built mine in the past with frontpage and currently photoshops web gallery action (my quick page to get these images up for the church and my page of outtakes from the jump challenge, glad I didn't enter) and used an ftp program to dump everything on my site but not sure how godaddy works, so I'm probably not a lot of help. I'm sure you can search or contact someone there to get info.
Good luck

I built it in FrontPage and then published it. However nothing is showing up on the site. It weird because if I preview the FrontPage file using the browser than it shows up perfectly. Somehow th einfo is not getting uploaded though because the cource code is empty on the page.
Grrr...

are you using an FTP application to upload it into yoursite folders? Usually the provider has one to download and instructions (your ID, password and the path to it, etc.) that you can look up. Then you put these in the FTP'er and it opens up that area for you. Then you can upload your folder(s) of files
this may help. seems simple and you probably already did this.

Yeah... not sure what was going on, but for some reason FrontPage just wasn't publishing it. I actually jsut re-saved and created a web on my computer and re-published which worked. No clue what I did different to get it to work this time.
Anyway, the preliminary Main page is up. Just something I threw together tonight with my whole 1 hour of learning how to create webpage!
Not much, but not a bad start I think.

I just went through the same thing when I moved my site from tripod to 1&1. It took me two days to figure out that I just had to delete some of their default files to get my site to show up. Very frustrating, but it's all over now...
