OK, I hooked up with a fabulous creative staffing agency in town who is sending me to the most fabulous ad agency in town for an interview and now I need a FABULOUS portfolio.

Unfortunitely, this is one of my weakest areas so I need some advice from you pros out there.

Since the position is for a photo retoucher, I want to show before and after images. I was thinking about possibly having a book made (like a coffee table book) but want to know what you guys think would really wow them (other than my good looks - cough cough)

I can't really help you on the finer points of a portfolio, but couldn't you make the 'before' pictures look a little worse, so that you can really impress them with the 'after' pictures ?

Hehe, I would suggest not starting a new job with a lie. I am sure you are good and don't need to do that.

It wouldn't really be a lie, would it? It would just be a further demonstration of retouching skill.

No, it will be a lie. A 'further demonstration of retouching skills' would be if they gave him a picture to edit right then and there.

But I guess people have their own versions of right and wrong ;-)
