I'm learning and improving? C&C?

I try to take pictures of anything and everything to explore what my camera can do. I Played with this one in photoshop a little. Going to add a couple more to my portfolio later tonight, when the rugrats are down to bed.

The colors are good, the focuse is spot on, and the background is, for the most part, not distracting - nice shallow DOF. The only thing that I can see that's lacking in this shot is composition. I would possibly try a different crop to get a more dynamic composition, maybe placing the bird off to one side or the other.

I would also clone out that small whitish object to the lower left of the bird. If you look at the thumbnail, you'll see what I mean - it's pretty distracting and draws my eye away from the subject.

Looks good for the most part, but I dislike that slight bluish color on some of the pedals.
