It's ok, but nothing that catches my attention. The photo quality isn't great and the photos are kind of average.

Marcel, when those come into bloom, we expect you to go out and get us some better pictures. Looks to be an awesome sight to see in person!

MMMMM - Check out these sites and let me know what you think. For once (Only this once) try and look past the image quality (DOF, Rule of thirds, etc) and look at the content. I was trying to get the message across about hou awesome the flowers are - not how bad the photos.
Tell you what - The moment I get hold of any of the photographers that took these photos - I will tell them your concerns - For now - please remove the lens from your eyes (seriously think some people at DPC have tunnel vision) and try to enjoy the subject of these photos and TRY to look past the technical stuff.
If these images were submitted into a challenge - sure go ahead and go for the technical stuff - For now - Enjoy the flowers.

Man, some people needs a serious reality check. What a combination - Camera view finder causing tunnel vision and the computer screen causing square vision. Now I understand the logic (and cause) behind people wanting to give technical comments on all photos they see.

DPC'ers must try to understand that some people (not many) do have lifes outside a studio. We still enjoy the simple beauty of a flower.

That reminds me - I need to go and give the lady that took my Passport photo a serious lesson in exposure and use of DOF.

You said, "let us know what you think", which implies, tell us what you think about the photos, hence all of the replies about how horrible the photos are. Keep in mind, you are posting on a site where the purpose of the site is to critique photos. When somebody asks, "Let us know what you think", then we are certainly going to tell you.

YES, YES, YES - WHATEVER. Excuse me for trying to share some beauty of mSouth Africa with people from all over the world on a GENERAL DISCUSSION thread and not on a INDIVIDUAL PHOTO DISCUSSION THREAD.
It will not happen again. I will keep it for myself.

Marcel,

In fairness to those who replied, your first post said "let me know what you think." Typically, that's considered a request for critique around here.

If that's not what you meant, it's reasonable clarify in a reply and perhaps edit your first post to indicate that you're posting for the content only and do not wish for critique. There's really no need to get defensive, as no one is attacking you, and at least in my opinion, to jump on your fellow participants for doing what they thought you asked them to do is a bit over the top.

The flowers are beautiful; thanks for sharing.
