Sorry...me again. Just thought of another scenario. Is it legal to split colour channels edit them in a legal fasion and recombine them.
If I crop a split channel and recombine it (dont know if possible but if it was) would this be legal.
Sorry to be bother but an answer would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think your cropping and re-combining trick would be quite legal - but it's difficult to be certain: might fall foul of the 'applied to all pixels' point.

I do recall a shot that was split and re-combined - and that i believe was not dq'd.

what about 2 photos of the same thing different zoom combined. No different than a long exposure. X seconds at Y distance, cover lens, X seconds at Z distance.
