how much faster is F3.2 compared to F2.8?
Are these equal between difference lens?
How much diff in shutter speed can you pull off by switching from 3.2 to 2.8? Or even 2.0? |

f/2.8-f/3.2 = 1/3 stop
f/1.8-f/2.0 = 1/3 stop
f/1.4-f/1.8 = 2/3 stop
f/8.0-f/9.0 = 1/3 stop
It varies.

f3.2 is 1/3 stop slower than f2.8. This is a ratio, so yes it is the same for all lens. The shutter speed will be 1/3 stop faster at f2.8 -- what that means in terms of actual time depends on what the beginning shutter speed is.

Funnily enough, this is what I was thinking about in bed this morning, trying to delay getting up. I did a quick calculation to work out how much of a stop difference there was between f/1.4 and f/1.8.
I should really get out more often.
