I decided this wasn't good enough so I didn't enter anything in Candids.
I still would appreciate any comments on it, though.

It was taken through the window while crouching partway up an old stairwell. I liked the whole cheering section he had brought with him, complete with video camera. Unfortunately, right after the actual tattooing started, the girl with back to camera shifted position, totally blocking my view, so this was the best I could get.
(ps. Basic editing rules can be HARD to work within!)

Thanks in advance for any help offered :)

I would have given it an 8.

Its very candid, and quite interesting. Great shot.

Likely a 5. Can't really identify a subject.

It's an interesting shot, but I think the distance would have hurt you. Close up candids seem to be much more striking. The glare off the glass, while not too bad, is still distracting.

It's a lot better than many entries and it tells a story.

Just a thought, under privacy laws is it illegal to shoot from a public position into a private house or workplace, not wanting to P**s on your parade but every one must be aware of privacy provisions when doing candid photography

Actually, they *were* aware we were out there.

Thanks for your comments, I do agree the shot has problems and that's why I didn't enter. I just wondered about basic reations :) I appreciate your time and thoughts :D

edit to add;
technically we weren't in a public place, as it was all part of a private mall/type area in a block of turn-of-the-century buildings.
I'm still searching for specifics in Canadian law... I know there's a big variation among countries. But thanks for the heads-up, gets me double-checking!
