I woke up this morning and realized that I need to go to Thailand.

For starters....I love Thai food
See image below

...and secondly, I truly believe that Ribbon shots might be bountiful. ;)

not to mention it looks like an absolutely beautiful place to visit. Oh...and Manny(The Big L)is there...a huge plus.

Has anybody been? Any travel tips...Hotel tips...location tips....danger zone tips...Ribbon tips...nicest time of year to visit tips...how much should I tip, tips???

Please advise
(travel dates and way of payment haven't been decided yet)

I've been there a couple times on business, and it's true, blue ribbons flutter on the wind like butterflies! ;-)
Really, it is a beautiful country. I've personally only been to the Bangkok area, so I'm not a great resource as far as travel. The weather there is either "hot" or "hotter." On one trip there, my co-worker, a Singapore native, was commenting on the heat. That's really saying something! The humidity is very high, often so much so that lenses, glasses, etc. immediately fog up when exiting an air conditioned car or building.
I'd love to go back to Thailand when I could take some time to see the country and do some photography. That, however, will have to wait for some time, unfortunately.

Edit:
And now you've made me hungry for a good Thai curry, LOL.

Dang! A singaporean thought it was hot? When I went to Singapore, I was informed that it was 37-38 degrees every day. That felt warm to me, although I didn't bring any shorts to the country... Silly Lonely Planet book... "Singaporeans view shorts as almost too casual..."

Oddly though, Singapore stunned me because as I was being driven to my hotel, I saw a girl in a bikini in a park. For a guy who lives in Taiwan where wrists are seldom seen (ok, you do see wrists sometimes...), that was a pretty marvelous sight!

My sister found Thailand pretty hot, but not oppressive. Perhaps it is more about the time of year?

i only found a yellow ribbon there.

I found the Lonely Planet guide to be very useful for things like customs and language and so on. Far more useful was to get a tour guide with some skillz (Manny) to drag you around keep you out of trouble.

if you land in Bangkok, you'll find TATs (travel agencies) all over the place and they'll hook you up with places to go - mountain treks (chiang mai), river rafts, beaches, islands (ko samui is awesome). You can negotiate like mad with them at the TAT, and for very little money you can have an amazing adventure.

Here's a vid of my pictures from there - 20MB file

absolutely worth making the journey.

Holy Shizzle....that's a cool vid Pedro. Better the second time around too. Now that's what I call a "target rich environment".

A Yellow Ribbon too? ...see, I guessed right.
