OK...in FLA., can someone help me with "compression" setting??? Going thru pics that I want to keep...using both Olympus 500Evolt and my RebelXT...to get more pics without losing resolution and clarity, should I have it set at 1/4 or 1/8? Does it make a lot of difference when posting to the site for "web"?
Any help appreciated...

You would be better off stopping at the store and picking up another memory card for the Canon. If you start to compress your images you will loose resolution and clarity. I tried to be selective in what format I shot during a vacation, low res for the typical vacation shots, high res when I saw something I really wanted. Day 2 forgot what I was doing (blame it on the margaritas) and took a lot of great shots that I wanted to print when I got home, all on low res. I lost.

jr...thanks for the feedback....got another computer open to me for another 15 minutes...going to get another card...what is the standard resolution. When i turn on the camera it automatically goes to 1/8...have 1/4 and 1/12. What should I use for which? My "prize" shots, my other than prize shots and so forth?

Better yet, stop into any camera store or photo developers and ask to have the pictures burned to a CD. Should be pretty cheap. You might even be able to do this at an internet cafe if that is where you are?

Make sure that you ask them to just have the pictures and not any special software or image loading programs. Just a straight burn will be sufficient.

My parents did this when they came to Taiwan. They ended up with 3 CD's and my father's 512MB card was just fine.

I personally have an external HD with card readers built in for this...

If you want the best results, shoot with the least amount of compression possible.
