eschelar- Could be that I prefer a darker look, however I notice mainly with her (light skin) that I am having more trouble accepting the cameras exposure choice. I want to retain some of the rosey cheek glow and freckles, so it makes sense about what you said in relation to my own style being in opposition with the cameras decisions. LOL
kiwinick- thanks for your help about the graycard. Will do.
Bear- Can't wait to do some more experimenting with exposure on her skin. I should probably try raw in the future with her.

IMHO, I think you should be using RAW all the time. All these problems would go away then. No more worrying about a stop here and there. Expose to the right, adjust in PS, and get better color while you are at it :-)

My sentiments exactly! BTW Kelly, I really love your original shot, and I think the exposure on her skin is just perfect. A little more light in some of the shadow areas might have been good, and a double-processed RAW file (exposed to the right to start with) would have been ideal for that purpose.
