Everyone,
It's been too long since I've posted anything to your community.Let me start by once again thanking everyone who showed us such tremendous support while Becky Sell and I got OPR up and running.
Since our initial run to Pass Christian, MS, we have been busy working to finish the first round of images. During that time we have also worked on the foundation of our organization and have had a photographer make a return trip to collect even more damaged photos.
Currently, we are preparing for perhaps the most ambitious phase of the operation - a rescue trip to New Orleans. Becky and I along with another member of OPR are finalizing the details for meeting up with several other volunteers to collect damaged photos in the Big Easy.
What all this means to you, our friends at DPChallenge, is that we'll have more work to pass around. I need to know who among you still want to participate. I also have a new system (i.e. an organized address book) for keeping track of our extensive group of volunteers.
So, if you have done work for OPR and want to remain on board for future work, please drop me an email at OPRvolunteer@gmail.com. It would also be helpful if you can attach a before and after version of a restoration that you have previously completed. The example you provide would determine the level of difficulty we would send you in the future.
If you are "re-volunteering", please let me know where you're from as well. This part is merely a request and not mandatory. When we send the restored prints back to their owners we think it's nice to let them know who helped them and where the help came from. But once again, if you're not comfortable with providing that information then feel free to leave it out.
Thanks again for the help. OPR is nothing without all of you.
