If you had the choice between a new 20d or a used D1X which one would you get and why?

20d...

1) more MP (thats always good)

2) more fps, which means better for sports

3) canon ROCKS!!

Have to agree there and I own Nikon. Except the Canon rocks part. Just technically a better camera

Why not include the D70 that is a great camera and better IMO than a 20D, I would go for the D1X simply because I have Nikon glass, the MP thing is a bit of a myth really again IMO because the D1X is a PRO camera and the D20 a Prosumer entry level the quality of the MP will be different and I think IMO that the D1X will give better quality.. It's a thin line anyway.

I'de LOVE a D1X as a back up, I hear the battery life is a bit crappy on the older D1 series so the Canon would be better in that dept that is why I suggested to include the D70 in the deal.. you could get a nice bit of glass too for the same price as a D1X

What size will you be printing your pictures at A4wheelin?
Will the 8.2 make a difference over a 5.9 at the sizes you will be printing?

I've enjoyed the D1X and not had any trouble at all printing 22".
I haven't really had a need or desire to print larger than the 22 inches

I don't know much about the Cannon, so I don't have an opinion on it.

It would be great to get some feedback from actual users of these two cameras. Likes and dislikes.

just to say many porfessional photographers use the 20d as their main body... maybe the quality of the pixels is different.

also remember the d1x is much older then the 20d, thats another thikng to consider with the quality of the pixels..

Yes, I agree, the battery life is a bit on the crappy side with the DiX. I have always had to carry two with me. They run around $100.00ea and start fade after about a year.
