This is one of my outakes for the recent "Fill the Frame" challenge. It is of one cylinder of a nine cylinder radial, 1/3 scale, remote control aircraft engine. The complete engine is about nine inches in diameter.

Your opinion would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Dick

don't much like the blown out white part in the upper left corner, but I think the rest is very good - well exposed, nice depth, great texture. Subject is a little foreign to me, but the perspective makes it abstract enough that it's still cool.

Thanks Pedro, the blown out part is a portion of the plane's white fuselage. That's partly why I didn't submit it.

WOW! that must be one awesome craft - you got pictures of it anywhere?

Yeah the fuselage in the top left corner spoils it

Tarique,
I took this and a few other close-ups at a local hobby shop. I was unable to get any full view shots due to space. I plan to go out when they fly and get some more.

Oh! somehow with the details you gave I got an impression that you owned it, just as I now get an impression that perhaps you would like to own it ;)
I do get too presumtive at times ...

Naw...I'd rather have a 10D.

Autool - Thats one of those almost good enough shots that if you don't enter it, you wish you would have, and if you did, you wish you didn't. Probably made the right choice though. The subject is pretty good, but the other factors would've buried the fact that its a pretty cool subject, especially the white part in the corner.

On a totally unrelated note, I took this picture last weekend, which I think would've fit really well (If I had taken it one week prior). - Lily Fingers . I barely remember taking it. I stumbled across it and decided I really like it. Wish I would've had it for Fill the Frame!

Bob,
Nice composition, color, focus, and DOF just the little bit of bg peeking through on the lower left to hurt it. Good work, makes me want to find a great flower to shoot.
