Neither do I Steve,it`s the "Noise Reduction Amounts" filter on the "Noise Filter Settings" page that I alter and usually only the high, mid, low settings.
Still can`t find the WHITE setting on my demo version...must be a fairly old demo I have.
See pic attached....

Ahhhhhhhh... I see. As you can tell, your version IS different from mine. My display shows the current version(5.3) of purchased Pro+ version with default settings for "Noise Reduction Amounts". (I just downloaded it yesterday)
It is of interest to note that in my version White (the one marked 'Y') is the single most effective setting of the bunch and almost exclusively the only setting I adjust when using NI. That is because my main interest is in reducing noise, not in creating special effects.
As you can see the High, Mid and Low settings in "Noise Reduction Amounts" are set to 100% in both versions as defaults. Lowering their value reduces the amount of noise reduction I get which is my main goal, so I rarely touch them.
In my version, to my knowledge, lowering their values would produce no noticeable outcome that could be used as an effects filter.
I'd be curious to know if you do have the current demo version of NI or not.

Just checked Steve and it`s a fairly old version (3.0) downloaded in 2003 and I find it does produce significant results even at 50% in achieving the foliage effects I`m after in some of my landscape shots...the 100% (default) setting is usually way too powerful for that type of use, although I concede that it`s ideal when used for conventional noise reduction on selected areas.

I just downloaded NI 4.02 pro- it is a plug in tho, did I download the wrong one?? Why did n't they send me 5.3, it also looks very different than both your versions, it does not give the icons showing which setting refers to more or less blurring as 5.3 does.

Geewhy's really is old so that is why his version is different.
I own NeatImage Pro+ version 5.3. That has both the standalone and plugin versions. According to what I see on this page all versions of NeatImage should be at v5.3:
Current NeatImage versions
I checked my Plugin's "About" and it says version 5.3.
By any chance did you download a Mac version? They could have different version numbers. Mine is PC. If yours is PC then you might have an old version.

Yup... there ya go! See, if we put our heads together we can figure out anything. Mac has a plugin and no standalone application and it is cheaper. :)
