Summer Photo Camp on the Beach for Teens
One-month summer workshop
Monday ΓΆ€“ Friday, 1-4 pm: July 10 ΓΆ€“ August 4, 2006
For the first time, the Julia Dean Photo Workshops is offering a month-long Summer Photo Camp at the beach just for teens! This camp is open to any 14-18 year old with an interest in photography. The class meets Monday through Friday from 1-4 pm at our beach-front location at the end of Washington Blvd. in Venice.
This is not a basic photography class, though the first three days will be a review of all the gadgets on the camera, how to use them, and how to control the final look of the photography. For the first two weeks of the photo camp, students will learn about different kinds of cameras and techniques, from digital technology to pinhole photography. Each day will bring something new and something very fun to do. For the last two weeks ΓΆ€” after they have decided which type of camera and/or technique they liked best ΓΆ€” the students will work on and create a body of work from their chosen technique. Group critiques will take place daily too.
Workshop Fee: $1,500
(Students will be asked to bring their own camera and their own supplies.
A list of supplies will be provided for each student, depending on the technique they decide to do.)
One scholarship available for this workshop, thanks to the Ronald & Catherine Gershman Foundation!
