Hullo all,
So again I have a question... recently I installed Photoshop Elements 3.0 and have started using it to edit rather than my old version of Photoshop 7.0... I was told Elements was better, but maybe that was false information. However, my question is how can I find curves in Elements? I looked to no avail. Also I couldn't find how to adjust the color balance manually... maybe this isn't possible, but I doubt it. If anyone has some ideas, or thinks I should return to 7.0 I'd love some help. Thanks all.

There's a 3rd party plugin which adds Curves to PSE 3 -- it came with a book Unlocking Secrets of PSE ... or something like that. I've heard there might be other "hack-type" solutions as well.
My guess is that the only advance PSE 3 makes over PS 7 is the "SaveForWeb" save option, which allows you to optimize the JPEG size, and the Bicubic Sharper/Smoother algorithms, which are better than PS 7's straight Bicubic. You lose not only Curves, but I think also Adjustment Layers as well.
My suggestion would be to edit mainly in PS 7, save a flattened TIFF of the final result, and then use PSE to resize (if necessary) and optimize that for the web.
For comparison, I still use PS 5.0 : )

The Save for Web option is available in PS7.

Yeah, I use Save for Web all the time in PS7. It has the adjustable optimization size, too. Personally, I'd stick with 7 over Elements, but that's jut my $.02

There you go ... I end up using 5 or CS -- I never had to use versions 6 or 7 very much.
So really, it seems the only advantage of PSE is the resizing algorithms.
