Does anyone know if a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS will fit in a Lowepro Sling Shot AW 200 bag? I have the f/4L version and it fits with about an inch room left over. I was wondering if the f/2.8 version will fit with hood reversed and tripod mount on. I wanna pay triple the price of my f/4 for the f/2.8 IS version because that lens is JUST THAT GOOD! |

I have that bag now but am returning it. It's not that comfortable and not that easy to swing to the side. BUT...
I'm sure it would fit in the bag if it ia the lens on your camera. Not sure if it will fit upright in the bag. but if you want to measure your lens I can go check it out now :0) |

yup, it will take a 1D Mark IIn and attached 70-200 F/2.8L IS. If your careful you can sneak a couple of small lenses in as well but its awkward getting the cam out (not what the bag was designed for really).

How are you fitting that in there? When I put my 30D with a 70-200mm f/4 in, the bag will hardly close. I know the f/2.8L IS is almost a full inch longer than then f/4L. |

I will be using a 30D plus 80-200 a fair bit (possible with the Kenko 300 TC too). Will this combo work? I think the 80-200 is about 9 inches long?
I mean that it would be put in so it fits into the quick-access spot on the side.
It looks like a pretty fun looking backpack, but I can only get it via order. Nobody here stocks it. I don't think it's very popular because it mostly needs width, but it's quite a narrow, tall pack. It should be a lot wider IMHO. I was blown away at how tiny the 100 AW is inside particularly in the width department, and that's all they stock here.
I might be looking for a different bag instead. But I don't know if Lowepro has the really compact ones (I mean the ones that have lots of space on the inside, but are slim and not bulky on the outside. My Lowepro that houses my S2 makes it VERY bulky compared with what it needs to be and it doesn't really make very efficient use of the space inside.
Is it so hard to include lightly padded bits of rigid plastic to give it some rigidity while maintaining softness inside? Yeesh. |

Hi. Only had the slingshot for a month now and I am happy I bought it. I have a Nikon D70 and can fit it in with the 28-300 on it, with room to spare. Camera+lens measure 7 inches (or 18 centimeters). I even have a divider at the bottom and room for a few filters there. Not as much space as in a backpack, but it is so convenient just to wip it from your back and "up front" a great bag for "daytripping".
Edit: took that divider out and it measures about 9 inches. And I should add, it's a slingshot 200. I can have my 3 lenses in, the extension tubes, my SB-800 and some odds and ends. You can also store a lens or whatever in the top compartment.

Sounds good for me except that my zoom lens alone is 9 inches long. I think adding a camera on top of that would be over the top. Durnit. I really liked that bag. |
