Ok, so I put this one together instead of a stop action of a slice of pineapple with water drops (which I might actually have been able to pull off... maybe), mostly out of a lack of time for the setup for the pineapple shot (and my pineapple dealer wasn't there that day).
I ran this by some kids and they didn't get it. They all seemed to understand that Tweety was hiding. Even the ones that didn't speak English. This is the context of why the shot has so much negative space as well as why it's so tucked away in the corner.
The title, well, I'll leave that to your own sense of humor. I often find that people don't understand my humor or do understand it but simply find it less than entertaining. I guess that comes from spending 95% of my time entertaining small children....
Anyhow, I'd like to know what it is that I did wrong here. I thought that the pic was pretty good technically and am a little surprised that this turned out to be one of my worst submissions so far. It started at a 4.2 which was worse than the pic I just submitted to learn how to do the resizing and see what a pic looks like in 640x480... Fortunately it came back fairly well, but I don't really understand why it did so poorly.
One of my few commenters also felt that this was so.
Oh well, as some may know from my past ramblings and attempts to learn, I'm hardly worried about scores and I'm not at all afraid of strong criticism.
I will mention in closing that yes, there was a specific decision to shoot this off the third (in actual fact, the rules of composition WERE used in this picture. I chose to use the 5th instead of the third and I specifically added enough of the original BG to put Tweety squarely BEYOND the left fifth line rather than ON it. I did this for the context of the photo to give a bit of a feeling of 'hiding'.
