anyone ever get this feeling?

it's strange.. i worked retail for years hoping to get weekends off... then now that i do, i get the sunday sickness. it's like a mix of boredom and the dread that the next day is monday.

i usually go out shooting but lately i've been shooting like crap. :-)

anyone experience this sunday feeling?

Yup, it happens all the time. I think it's called the 'damn-I-have-to-go-to-work-tomorrow" syndrome. The only cure is to quit your job. :)

...getting so drunk that you forget what day it is works too, but I don't recommend it because it makes the Mondays that much worse.

Yes, In the professional retail world it is called Sunday syndrome, No Joke! I worked retail for 10 years and usually in retail you don't know your schedule until a few day before the week coming up. And If your lucky to get two days off they are split. And if you work on Saturday it usually is an alldayer.

When your off on a weekday you feel some kind of freedom that everyone else is working and your off. It's kind of like, ha-ha you got to work and I don't. But when your off on a Sunday, a day that they retail hours are usually shorter than the weekday hours and after working Saturday you get a "I have been screwed feeling". "If I would of been of Wednesday I would of had 10 hours off but being off Sunday I only get 5 hours off". Plus everyone else is off so you don't feel superior and you know that you have to go back to the grind the next day.

Don't let anyone tell you Retail work is easy, it's not.

For me, I wait all week long to take a break on the weekend. Then, on the weekend, I feel like I should be working and that I'm just biding my time until I get back to my business.

Absolutely SICK!

Well, not tomorrow. I'm leaving both businesses and my cell phones behind, and going to the Dominican Republic for a week.

See you next Monday.

you should get someone to do your homework for you, and tell them you'll give them free signed photos when you're famous.

Heh. I do that to... I saved pretty much all of the studying for a test tomorrow until today. At least it's an open book test.

You'll never have it this good again. Your schoolHours/totalHours including homework will almost always be less than workHours/totalHours when you get tired of school. Enjoy it while you can.

sunday syndrome...

i owe everything wonderful in my life to that horrid affliction that attacks most working people, especially professionals.

a while back, i went to philadelphia to visit a friend one weekend, and he introduced me to an associate in the law firm where he worked. we seemed to hit it off, so i asked her out to dinner that sunday night.

we went out, had dinner, spent a few hours walking around penn's landing, then wound up in dicken's inn. about 10 o'clock, the bartender asked us if we wanted anything else. i looked at her and said, "well, i know what it's like for all my other lawyer friends. we either have to leave now, or you can't go to work tomorrow." and she said to the bartender, "well, i guess the next round's on me..."

so she called in sick, and we spent the day riding around bucks county, looking for covered bridges for me to photograph. even then, she had an idea as to what she was getting in to.

so, yes, i know what it is, and even though it sucks, i'm thankful for it.

;-)
