i was my own worst enemy, entering that best of challenge, when all i had was some Christmas party snapshots taken with a week-old camera. and, to answer my first commenter, yeah, i think i did improve some with the next 199,999 clicks ;-)

2002. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .2005

i also managed to get a few decent shots out of it before upgrading to a dSLR (but, unfortunately, they were shot in 2003)

anyways, cheers to all of ya'll who had the digital thing going back then!! those are some really great, timeless shots in that challenge!

Hey skip

I know what you mean it was great to see images taken from 4 years ago with old equipment.

My mistake was trying to be creative in a challenge that cried out being creative.
2002

but i still love shots of my son

I never entered, but this is what I could have entered. I was shooting my Olympus d450, 3x optical zoom and 1.3 megapixels.

Sometimes 2002 seems like a long time ago...

well i couldn't enter because our dog ate ( sort of ) the hard drive which holds my photos from our kodak dx3700 - AKA satan. if anyone else owns one of these please throw it in the ocean for me ;}

although i did have some nice photos of magans bay & st thomas from the kodak.

that particular camera made me start shooting film again - and forced me to spend money i didn't have on a DSLR...

If you want to see some really horrible pictures, check out my first efforts at digital photography. These were taken in May, 1996 and I've just realized that it has almost been ten years! I've forgotten what camera I used--it was borrowed for the occasion.

A couple years later I got my own camera, an Olympus DL-500 with 850K pixels. I think you will agree that these are better! (Clicking on the images will take you through about eight images from the summer of 1998.)

I think I'll suggest a "Best of 1998" challenge.
