The Art of Polaroid Transfer and Emulsion Lift with Julia Dean
One-Day Workshop
Saturday, April 22, 2006
1:00 â 5:00 pm
The Polaroid âtransferâ is a magical process with a lovely result; different but equally beautiful is the âlift.â The transfer takes place from an underdeveloped Polaroid print where the negative, full of dyes, gets transferred onto art paper for an impressionistic look. The lift is done by boiling the image of a fully developed Polaroid print right off the backing, then placing in onto art paper, carefully stretching it into place. Kathy Weaver, a Workshop employee and Polaroid enthusiast, will show you how to make 5x7 and 8x10 Polaroid lifts. (You can even do an 8x10 Polaroid transfer or lift yourself, though each sheet of 8x10 Polaroid film is $20!)
Workshop Fee: $175
Lab Fee: $35
