Heres a few photos i have worked up so far from about an hour ago. I would love to know what y'all thought of them. Am I heading in the right direction with them? This is actually the first shoot I have gotten to use my new toys and i wanted to see if Im getting better or worse. Gimmie the down n dirty on these please! I cant get better or learn anything new if you dont tell me Im screwing up~
Im still working on the rest and will post the finished result soon. Im actually not doing much to them at all(see photog. notes)

heres the other two. Thats all Im working up of this shoot. Its the best of the best of what i shot. It was hard to work with the sun playing hide-n-seek behind the clouds. If it had been warmer we were going to do some shirtless shots but by the time we got these done our fingers were frozen.
I will return all constructive comments 1-4-1

Hello :)
Since I'm a big portrait nut I had to take you up on your offer.
I don't have alot of access to young males to take portraits of so I quite envy you with the priveledge to shoot this young man.
What I have learned myself about portraiture is that you need steady light (no variations in shadow and light) on the skin. I have noticed that overcast days are my friend and I get my best portraits in shade or filtered light (such as cloud cover). I do use reflectors sometimes, but more often I tripod and get my models to hold still. I can't emphasize enough about the importance of your lighting. If you cant get an overcast day to work for you, I would shoot before 10, or after 5 so that the sun isn't as harsh.
I'll go give a few comments on individual pics now. |

thank you to all who have left comments so far. I am a woman of my word and comments will be returned but it will most likely be in the morning before i can get to returning them.
You all have been a ton of help today. I find it hard to pose him because he does come off a bit girly. Alot of the poses he chose. The tree one was all me tho...wanting to have a bit of fun and capture his nice, real smile.I think that was actually the last one we took before we ran from the freezing wind. I think i need to spend some time researching male poses that will work with natural light and nature as the BG. I also need to figure out what his best "asset" is and play off that. just cant figure that one out except his smile but I love smiles so I think thats just a me thing.
again guys-n-gals...thanks for the help...as you can tell I need alot of it!~~Cher~~ :o)
