I took these of my nephew yesterday and played around with them a bit today.
I would like to have a print made of one of them and give it to his parents as a gift. I like the eyes best in the one where he has his hand in front of his face. Is there any way to remove that hand in a natural-looking manner, or am I (as I suspect) going to have to go with one of the other two photos?
Also, any/all comments or critiques would be more than welcome on any of the photos. Thanks.

Very cute. :) The first one (shown above) is in my opinion very similar to no. 2 with respect to his eyes, so it might be easier to clone out the dinner from the corner of his mouth. :) Perhaps you could soften/dodge the area to the left of his face. The first one's my favourite. Well done. |

I'll see if I can give it a shot, that's going to be a lot of reconstruction though. Could you send me your full size image if possible?

Thanks for the advice. Ack, there IS dinner there, isn't there. I'll see what I can do with that one. :) |

Sam, that's OK. I think I'll just use the full-face one. Thanks very much though, for offering. |

Quick edit to remove the blown highlights and the stuff next to his mouth. Also a bit of tone adjustements.

Wow. You are a magician! That's amazing.
The thing by his head was the back of the walker he was sitting in, by the way. I just snapped some shots of him while I was on nursery duty at church yesterday, and I loved the way his eyes turned out in these.
Wow again. Thanks. Did you clone out the walker, or...? (dumb question. I feel very good about having successfully used layers for very nearly the first time today, just so you know how PS-inclined I am). |

Well, I thought I'd give myself some PS practice and gave it a shot on the one you had in your portfolio anyway if that's ok. This is just a quick 10 minute job though and the shadows and shading could use some more work, but it's just something to start from.

Yeah... I've been so very impressed by all the PP skills on exhibit at DPC but it is very neat so see a precise side-by-side... especially with the highlights and tone as that is what I am going to try first to start learning lots about.
edit: I just took both pictures and tried to make the original look at least a little bit like the edited one and I have realized that I know even LESS about what I'm doing than I thought I did.
