Like..EUG for instance. Every time I see that name I say "Ooog" in my head. |
hehe I have a friend that says it like HUGE but drops the H and exagerates the hard G. Like You-je.
The thing that throws off most people with mine is how to pronounce that damned underscore. lol |

I'd say it like that because it's spelled the same as the beginning of eugenol -- that clove-scented stuff the dentist swabs on your gum before giving you a shot. |

I don't often think about it since I'm not in the habit of refering to myself in the third person.
_eug just doesn't do things like that. ;) |

i don't think anyone called my by my real name at the Germany GTG. although i got a variety of regional pronunciations:
Pay-drow
Pehd-row
Pethro (the Spanish and prolly most accurate way)
Jackas...erm...never mind.
and Hanne...you'll always be biteme in my books. and Azrifel will always be Az. Kiwi just IS Kiwi. Anastasia is Nasti. Shecoya HAS to be Rozzy. Joey is a lot of things: Joe, Joey, Joseph, Joseph bag of Doughnuts, Springy Little Freak, The Little Prick among others. But only i can say mean things about my little bro. anyone else does and i'll kill 'em.
I think mostly everyone else got their real names. Except I think Obsidian became Obscene Scalp Masseuse, but I can't be sure. |

Hi all,
Strange enough, I own a sailboat for over 25 years and when I meet other sailors that also own their own boats, we call each other by the name of the boat...
I imagine if ever I meet someone from this site, I would have the tendancy of calling them by their given name on the site.... unless I would already know them of course...

Hi Simpa :) Well that is true.
So please name your boats sensibly (what if your boat's "Shirley"?)

You must get some funny looks calling a big burly sailor "Saucy Sue". |

my roomate freshman year called me the first couple letters of my AIM screen name. So did his friends, and he introduced me as "Mers" as well. But I haven't really met people online often enough to know. I would think I'd call them by their real name. |
