Well - I am new to all this. I have always been interested in photography, but never really done anything more than take snapshots. I am now studying the art of photography and need some help with my first round of shots.
I am not sure how to post pics in my message, so can you all look at my pics in my portfolio and give me some beginner advice.

Thanks,

There are buttons above the area where you type in your message. One of them is for links ... like this one (turning your URL into a link).
Another one is for inserting images if you know the image number, like this:

What would be helpful to those looking at the images and you yourself would be to add the technical info about the photo. For example, aperture, shutter speed, camera mode, use of tripod etc.
Nice shot of the polar bears.

Robert, I like the point of view on your polar bear shot... feels like we're down there and close to the action.
I think it would look even better with a more shallow DOF to blur out the busy background.
It would help a great deal if you filled out the information about the photo's background.
Knowing which lens and which settings you used, plus any extra info about the photo, helps us to give more specific feedback.
Plus we're a nosy bunch, and we simply want to know the details!!! :-)
Dang..... cpanaitoi beat me to it! :-)

Thanks I will do that. The Polar Bear shot was hard since I was shooting through glass that was constantly being splashed by the Polar Bears. |

OK - done. I added my F-stops, ISO, etc.
Thanks!
