Been working with this for quite a while, trying to narrow it down. It comes and goes. I tried cleaning contacts, removing battery, turning camera on and off. Each one works/doesnt work at times. It's like voodoo fixometry. Gradually it has worked up to half or more of the time my Sigma lens is unusable due to this. It happened today and I switched to my Canon 50 mm. Error disappears. Hook up the Sigma.. Error is back. So.. in your experience, is this more likely a Sigma issue or a maintenance issue with this particular lens? Fiddling in the past with settings, battery, remove it and reconnect it, clean contacts have all worked, but this time its fairly resistant to efforts to make it go away. Input appreciated. |

Check the contacts carefully on the lense. Also, try taking the lense to a camera shop, mount it on a similar body and see if the error is there...that would indicate the lense for sure. If no problem there, suspect the contacts on the camera body or the camera electronics. |

Contacts look fine. Trying on another body sounds like a good idea. Any other Sigma/Canon folks encounter this with one lens and not another. |
