Does anybody have a quick reference for the apparent field of view (in degrees) of EOS mount lenses on Canon 1.6 crop digital bodies??
I need this info for a astronomical project I'm working on. For instance, I have a Tammy 19-35 and my daughter has the kit 18-55 on her Rebel. At the widest zoom, what would be the apparent field of view of these two lenses??
Many TIA. |

I am looking at the manual for the EF-S 60 and the field of view and angle of view information is listed in the specs. Perhaps check the manual of the lense? I don't have either of the lenses you listed so don't have those manuals.
EDIT: And now looking at the manual for the EF-S 17-85 the same information is listed in relation to the 17 and 85 end of the lense.

John,
I have a spreadsheet that I use for exactly that. The file's not accessible to me until I get home today, but when I get home I will send it to you. It has calculations for both rectilinear and equiangular fisheye lenses :-)

Somehow I just knew it.
Thanks Kirbic.
BTW, I'll share the project with you, it's a good one. |
