Right now, they only accept images on CD or DVD. |

My original submission had images taken with the Rebel 300D. I used Photoshop Elements 3 and increased the resolution to 300 to make a 50MB file. All were accepted...no problems. |

In an effort to clarify my process for submitting to Alamy, I have listed the step by step process I use for each image. Of course they have already been checked at 100% for dust and abnormalities. This may be the most incorrect way and may be causing my problems, but below is how I upsize my images for Alamy.
Could someone let me know what I am doing wrong.
(Please be gentle)
1) Open Photoshop Elements 4 Organizer.
2) Select Photo
3) Select âEditâ Then âStandard Editâ
Once in Editor:
4) Go to âFILEâà âSave ASâ Ã
In the âSave Asâ Box, the following are selected:
a) a) FORMAT TIFF (*.TIF, *.TIFF)
b) b) ORGINIZE Include in the organizer
c) c) COLOR ICC Profile sRGB IEC61966-2.1
d) d) Use Lower Case Extensions
Click âSaveâ
In the TIFF options Box the following are selected:
a) IMAGE COMPRESSION None
b) Pixel Order Interleaved (RGBRGB)
c) Byte Order IBM PC
Click âOKAYâ
The file is now saved as in TIFF format.
5) Go to FILE--Ã AUTOMATION TOOLS-Ã GENUINE FRACTALS
6) I then go to the image scale section on the right side of the page, just under the picture in the navigation section and I set the image units to %. I then up the % until I get an image size of right around 48MB. In the case of the Birds shot it was upped to 145% on width and height.
7) Click âSaveâ button and save to directory.

Hm... I dunno much about the technical side of this stuff, but I do know that you can use LZW compression on your files.... It's great... Makes the files 1/3 to 1/2 the size.... |

Thanks tryals15,
I have been having such a problem getting it right, I didn't want to chance the compression but if you say it will be okay then I will give that a shot to help give me more space.
If anyone knows the correct processing prceedure with Geni=uine Fractles, I would appreciate if you think my way is correct or not. If not, that is my problem, if it is okay, then it must be an equipment problem.
Thanks again for everyones help.

I don't see anything wrong with your steps. I usually do some slight tweaking of gamma or curves etc. if needed for lighting. Clone out any imperfections etc. Then upsize using resize pro from fredmiranda.com. Then save as tif. So basically the same. Just gotta make sure the image you start with is nice and sharp and in focus before the upsize.

I have a quick question for you experts.
I am also intending to submit to Alamy. Can someone tell me if this is up to par? Here is a 100% crop
Thank you |

From the replys I have to assume that it is the original rather then the process. I just got the 30D two days ago so maybe that will be the saving grace.
I will shoot ten photos next weekend (my first days off) and see if that doesn't fair better. I just wanted to make sure my post processing was up to speed, if it is, it must be me or the equipment. I am very new to the software end of photography so I just wasn't sure where I stood.
Thanks |

Thanks Everyone.
Still looking for someone who uses GF tp verify the process listed, unless I missed an entry. If I did please forgive me as I have been upfor almost 60 hours straight. |

Sounds reasonable to me; personally I specify pixels rather than percentages but that's just a personal preference. |
