If there is an option for my camera (A70) to use a 37mm telephoto or a 52mm would it be better to use the larger lens? the 52 will have a larger front glass then the 37 but it will be bulky and add weight. The 37mm would fit the camera better.

Would the focus point be larger? some telephoto lenses have a small point in the center that has a good sharp focus. If its larger will the area be larger?

Are those numbers pertaining to diameter, or focal length? If it's focal length, then you'll just have to decide if you want the longer or shorter of the two...
